The driest and coldest of the estates. The slopes are steep and the altitude is close to 530 metres above sea level.
Vigna Cerreta is located in the western part of the municipal territory of Gaiole in Chianti, near the place-name 'Cerreta'.Here, the Sangiovese vineyards are located on the hills that grow along the course of the Torrente Piana, with prevailing eastern and north-eastern exposure. The altitude varies from 370 to 450 metres above sea level.
Cerreta has typical alberese-rich soils, alternating between fine 'marl' materials, marly limestone and, more rarely, limestone sandstone.
