It presents a temperate climate, thanks also to the presence of surrounding forests.
Located in the valley below the medieval village of Vertine, it benefits from a temperate climate due to the presence of surrounding woods. Sangiovese, as in other macrozones, is the protagonist here and finds ideal conditions of warm soil and cool climate, which persist even during the driest periods. Vigna Casi also hosts a vineyard with bush-trained vines.
The soil of the Castello di Meleto vineyard is characterized by a unique combination of components. It is mainly composed of clay, which provides good water retention and nutrients for the vine roots. Additionally, the soil also contains significant percentages of sandstone and galestro.
